(Un)Covering Oil with Antonia Juhasz.
Episode 1: (Un)Covering Oil
On the first installment of KGNU’s “(Un)Covering Oil,” host Antonia Juhasz looks at oil, fossil fuels and the global economy.
We begin the show looking at the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic on the state of Colorado and what it could or should be doing to the state’s fossil fuel industry with Micah Parkin, Executive Director of 350 Colorado.
Then we’ll mark the 10 year anniversary of the Deepwater Horizon explosion, which killed 11 men and resulted in the worst offshore drilling oil spill in history, with Daniel Lee, Executive Director of Boat People SOS from Mississippi, followed by John Amos, former oil industry geologist turned oil spill specialist. He is the president of Sky Truth and is working to ensure transparency of an industry that has thrived in the dark.
Antonia then discusses the historic collapse of oil prices and Trump’s plans for a bailout of the oil industry.
With the support of a grant from the Society of Environmental Journalists, Antonia has launched a new special series, (Un)Covering Oil with Antonia Juhasz, airing monthly on KGNU radio in Colorado.
