In 2014, I founded (Un)Covering Oil, a nonprofit investigative journalism program. I conduct award-winning independent investigative journalism in the energy and climate sectors focused on oil. My writing appears in outlets including, Rolling Stone, Wired, National Geographic, Newsweek, Harper’s Magazine, The Atlantic, CNN, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Nation, Ms., The Advocate, and many more. I share my findings regularly as a guest on TV, radio, documentaries, and podcasts, and by providing public talks and lectures. I have an exciting internship program working with aspiring young journalists.

August 2024 update: After two years away from reporting, with the 2024 elections now underway, I decided that I cannot sit this one out. I have returned to reporting for at least the the next several months. There’s just too much at stake!
