Host Antonia Juhasz is joined in studio by anti-war veterans with Iraq Veterans Against the War, Shawna Foster and Derek Matthews, who share their stories about organizing against hate and Islamophobia in the 2016 Presidential election with the #VetsVsHate campaign. And, having participated in the COP21 UN Climate Agreement negotiations in Paris in December with the It Takes Roots to Weather the Storm Delegation, they discuss how organizing against climate change is intimately connected to organizing against war. Shawna Foster is a veteran of the US National Guard where she served as a Nuclear Biological Chemical Weapons Specialist. Derek Matthews was a Sergeant in the Marine Corps. He deployed to Afghanistan and twice to Iraq.
