Health of the Gulf Town Hall Meeting Set For Friday, April 20th

A Town Hall Meeting updating the current condition of the Gulf of Mexico and the health of those that live and work in our waters is scheduled for April 20th at 6pm in New Orleans. Scientists, doctors, fishermen, clean-up workers, and concerned coastal citizens will get their chance to let the rest of us know how restoration efforts are progressing since the BP’s Oil Drilling Disaster.

More importantly, what lesson did we learn? How can those affected have a voice in their future? And how can we be better prepared for the next disaster? Scheduled speakers include Kindra Arnesen, Riki Ott, Aaron Viles, Cherri Foytlin, Dr. Mike Robichaux, Dean Blanchard, Drew Landry, Antonia Juhasz, and children who are experiencing symptoms of oil-related exposure.

Clean-up workers & fishermen, who face an uncertain future due to health issues and a declining fishery will also be present. City, state, and federal officials, as well as BP representatives are invited and encouraged to come hear the voices of those who depend the Gulf for their lives. The event is supported many Gulf Coast artists, photographers and musicians who have fought for the rights of coastal citizens since the spill began.
