San Francisco, CA

Presenters include: Antonia Juhasz, Medea Benjamin, Stephen Zunes, and Alan Benjamin.

Join us in the 1st Pelosi Watch discussion on Thursday February the 22nd at 6:30pm at The San Francisco Public Library 100 Larkin St. (at Grove) Pelosi-Watch is an independent and analytical watch dog group focusing on the work of our House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi. We believe that Pelosi’s recent nomination as House Speaker presents an exciting opportunity for change in Congress. At the same time, we recognize the need to ensure that House Speaker Pelosi follows through with her proposed progressive agenda and is held accountable by the people who put her into office.

Our main goal is to bring together scholars, public officials, activists and community members in order to discuss and debate House Speaker Pelosi’s work during monthly public discussion forums. Each forum will address one domestic or foreign policy issue. Pelosi-Watch participants will analyze the work being carried out by House Speaker Pelosi on each topic discussed, and distribute our analyses to interested policy makers, media outlets and community members.

Pelosi-Watch is independent of political parties. We encourage the participation of people representing diverse political perspectives, and we truly value the importance of discussion and debate. Pelosi-Watch is not an action-based group; as of now, we do not promote actions for or against Nancy Pelosi.

Open to the public. This new project is supported by New College Center for Education and Social Action and Global Exchange. This is not a Library Sponsored Program.
